Hackathon Process

1. Show your mettle in coding

This is a preliminary phase of the Hackathon where participants are required to attempt the Tetris game.
Tetris is a classic arcade game created in 1984 by Alexey Pajitnov. The game requires players to rotate and move falling Tetris pieces. Players clear lines by completing horizontal rows of blocks without empty cells. If the pieces reach the top, the game is over. The objective of this preliminary round is to analyse the critical thinking ability and ensure technical proficiency in developing the solution from idea to a working prototype. The rules for the test are given below

  • The assessment is divided into 2 sections (SQL and JavaScript) having 1 single file coding question in each section.
  • The duration of the assessment is 90 Minutes.

The candidates who are shortlisted in the preliminary round are requested to share a problem statement within 7 days of the results.

2. Pitch your idea

In this phase, the participants will be presenting the ideas which they are planning to solve real-life problems with the support of Technology

Slides to have for the final pitch

The panel members from NeST/Industry will evaluate the ideas and shortlist a few ideas for the next stage of the contest. The information regarding the shortlisted ideas will be intimated in 5 days of the presentation. The participants who were shortlisted in phase two will get one month of preparation of the prototype.

A prototype is an early sample, model, or release of a product built to test a concept or process. Prototyping serves to provide specifications for a real, working system rather than a theoretical one.NeST will give mentoring sessions for guiding the students in preparing prototypes. The last lap of the event is the presentation of the working prototype before an eminent panel. The participants will be given 30 minutes for the demonstration. The sample structure of the presentation is given below:
  • Prototype Title
