Our client is an American multinational corporation with over 130,000 employees in more than 70 locations. They are an IT services firm that harnesses the power of technology to improve the lives of our customers, employees, the environment, and communities. The client is an employer of choice for the candidates with strong values, and fosters a culture of inclusion, belonging, and corporate citizenship.

THE CHALLENGE

The client wanted an efficient way to solve complex problems which required out-of-box thinking and team work. In addition to problem-solving, they also wanted to nurture innovation and logical thinking in teams at the same time keeping them interested and engaged.

The challenge faced by the client is to create a cloud-based codathan within different teams and a manual mode one based on feasibility.
They are people from the APAC region, all based out of various time zones and to get them together was quite difficult at a convenient bandwidth.
There were around 60-70 people from different regions so getting them together was a difficulty.
There were unique problem statements for which they weren’t able to find a solution.
The employees were caught up in the day-to-day activities and hence were faced with time constraints to get around to this issue.

The teams were provided with options such as Azure and AWS passes based on their comfort and ease of use with the platforms
The azure credit was limited to 100 and the teams had to efficiently derive a solution from the infrastructure.
This turned into a fruitful solution for the organization as this helped them break through the barrier and get to solve the problem statements within a short period.
Towards the end of the codathon, all the teams had an end-to-end solution for the looming problems that were causing disruption in their operational efficiency.

The best teams with their solutions were recognized thereby boosting employee morale and nurturing competitive spirit within teams.
